The South Eastern Railway has decided to ply a special train from the state capital to Nagpur during winter. The train will run on December 13, 20 and 27 and January 3, 10, 17, 24 and 30. From Nagpur, it will come back on December 14, 21 and 28 and January 4, 11, 18, 25 and February 1.
It will chug off from Hatia at 10pm and will reach Nagpur at 1.15pm on the following day after passing through Bano, Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Raigarh, Champa, Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg and Gondia. From Nagpur, it will leave at 2.55pm.
While the number of train going to Nagpur is 0811, the one coming from Hatia is 0812.
Senior transportation manager, Ranchi Railway Division, S.C. Banerjee said they decided to ply the train in view of the year-end rush. He added that passengers could start booking their tickets right away. On normal days, there is no direct train from Ranchi to Nagpur. As the train will pass through Odisha and Chhattisgarh before reaching Nagpur, people of these states will benefit the most.
The special train will have 22 coaches. These include four general compartments, 13 sleeper coaches, two AC-III coaches and one AC-II apart from two coaches designated as goods carriage. The Ranchi railway division has already announced another special train from Ranchi to Jaynagar in Bihar. This train will run from December 9 to January 10.
The departure time from Ranchi is 8.30pm.
It will ply on Mondays and Thursdays and start the return journey from Jaynagar on Sundays and Wednesdays.
