Rourkela emerges top in group-D of U-16 cricket

Rourkela defeated Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) by one wicket in an exciting preliminary league match of the Odisha Under-16 Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Ravenshaw University Ground in Cuttack on Saturday.
This was the third win in a row for the Rourkela side, which emerged toppers in Group D. Malkangiri, Jagatsinghpur, Bolangir, Jharsuguda and Nayagarh registered wins in five other league matches of the day.
Among notable individual performers, Rrakash Parida (Boudh), Satya Nina (Bolangir) and Maheswar Pati (Phulbani) hit a half-century each, while Ashutosh Das (Jagatsinghpur) bagged six wickets for 27 runs.
