Rourkela, Dec 21 (PTI) Blast furnaces of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) achieved another feat by recording the best ever production for any single day. The plant produced 7375 tonnes of hot metal yesterday thereby surpassing the previous record of 7351 tonnes of hot metal produced on October 28, 2009, RSP sources said today. Blast Furnace-three also contributed significantly in achieving this feat by making 1825 tonnes of hot metal on the said day, again its best ever performance. Adequate support was extended by various departments including Sintering Plant-I, Sintering Plant-II, Coke Ovens, SMS-I, SMS-II, CPP-I, Utilities, T&RM and other service units which have pitched in with effective support. RSP CEO G S Prasad visited the blast furnace department this morning and congratulated the employees.
